         | | Photography Sessions For serious photographers. You can enjoy a guided photography session around each individual wolf compound. There will be numerous opportunities to get unobstructed pictures of the wolves in their natural settings through the "portal openings" in the fencing. Since you will be photographing the wolves where they live, in a stress free environment, you will get the best possible photo opportunities. A Short Session is one hour and 15 minutes of 2 packs of wolves. Q. Do I get up close to wolves? A. Yes - within 3 or 4 feet. Q. What lenses and equipment do I need? A. Auto focus is highly recommended. Best lense - 75 to 300mm. Of course, your own method and preferences are fine. Q. What is the best season for photography? A. Fall - Winter - Early Spring. The wolves are in their full beautiful coats, the foliage is wonderfully colorful in fall, the snow shots are great in the winter and spring still lets plenty of light through our woodland canopy. Q. Do I need reservations? A. Yes! This is a private session, for just a few photographers. We customize it to your desires and try to work you in on the best day for you. First Come, First Serve! Book Now! Q. What does half-day shoot mean? A. A morning shoot, depending on time of year, usually starts at about 8:30 - goes to about 11:30 am. Afternoons usually 1:30 pm to about 4:30 pm. All times are subject to lighting. Q. If I am an amateur photographer will I get help? A. Yes, Dan Bacon will guide you and suggest and help if you want him to. Q. What type of photos will I get? A. Close up portrait to many wolves interacting socially. Q. How much film should I bring? A. At least 20 rolls of 36 exposures. Print - slide or both if you choose - We use a lot of 400 ASA print film. Q. Do you need a tripod? A. It is ok to bring one, but most people don't use it. Q. Is there nearby lodging? A. Yes, at least 10 motels within 10 miles. One motel is 4 miles from Preserve.
